Amanda Covington stepped into her position of Associate Athletic Trainer for Swimming and Diving in October 2023.

In her current role, Covington is responsible for day-to-day for the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for the Liberty Swimming and Diving program.

Prior to this position, she was the Champion Performance Operations Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Trainer for Cheerleading from 2019-2023. She was previously a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Liberty for the women’s swimming & diving program during the 2018-19 academic year. She was responsible for the men’s basketball, men’s golf and women’s swimming & diving programs during the 2017-18 academic year. She graduated in May 2019 with a Master of Science in Exercise Science – Human Performance.

Before coming to Liberty, Covington was an Intern Athletic Trainer at Auburn for the 2016-17 academic year. She worked with the women’s gymnastics, women’s soccer and men’s and women’s track & field programs for the Tigers.

Covington obtained a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Delta State in 2016, graduating cum laude.

Covington currently resides in Lynchburg.
